Appearance: Bright amber with coppery highlights. Nose: The nose is elegant and expressive, developing notes of apple and apricot accompanied by aromas of vanilla, cinnamon and dried fruit, with a marked gourmet dimension. Palate: The attack is supple and toasty, revealing flavours of caramelised apples, peaches and pear jam underpinned by a residual vanilla sweetness. The whole is well-balanced, although the sensations fall short of what the nose promises. The finish remains relatively short and somewhat flat. Overall impression: A well-crafted, well-balanced spirit which, despite a gap between the promising nose and a less expressive palate, is a product of honourable quality.
