Palate: The attack is lively and powerful, revealing flavours of cooked and candied fruit, with accents of tarte tatin and ageing spices. The texture becomes smoother on the mid-palate, although the wine retains a certain liveliness. The finish has a shorter character, with notes of encaustic and a slight bitterness that sometimes proves pronounced. Overall impression: An elegant spirit in its category, well-balanced despite a marked liveliness and a finish that is somewhat lacking in length.
