Appearance: Clear, golden amber. Nose: Balanced aromas of ripe apple and pear, supported by woody, pastry and caramel notes. The whole is harmonious, although the oak sometimes tends to dominate the fruit. Palate: Soft, round attack, revealing flavours of baked apple and ripe pear, accompanied by hints of vanilla, nuts and light spices. The texture is supple and well-integrated, with controlled power. The finish is moderately long, leaving a woody and slightly sweet impression, sometimes at the expense of the fruity freshness. Overall impression: A well-balanced, pleasant calvados, driven by a beautiful fruity maturity and an assertive woody structure, but whose expression sometimes lacks the liveliness and tension to achieve optimum balance.
